Family Therapy
Family therapy allows family members to better understand their own thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while understanding how these behaviors affect, and are affected by, those of family members.
The counselor provides the family with:
Encourage and support
Guidance in effective communication
Expectations setting
Instruction for emotional regulation
Demonstration of fair fighting and conflict resolution
Understanding of healthy vs. unhealthy boundaries
Family therapy is ultimately about developing a knowledge of how behavior dynamics impact each member and their relationships. This knowledge facilitates the family to work as a team, and not against one aother.
